Timeless Principles in Time Bound Symbols - Sunday Sermon

Authority in God's kingdom is important. Everyone ultimately comes under the authority of God. God has called husbands to have authority over their wives because in the Godhead, the Father has authority over the Son even though they are equally divine. Our homes bear the image of God and so this authority is important to maintain. A headcovering in the ancient world communicated that a wife was under the authority of her husband. This time-bound symbol expresses the timeless principle of a husbands authority over his wife, Jesus' authority over a husband, and the Father's authority over Jesus.
