Karen Lee

Karen, a native of the east coast, is married to Anton and has 2 sons, Caden (11) and Jordan (8). She was born in NYC and raised in Brooklyn, NY until she was 9. That’s when her family moved to NJ, which is where most of her family resides today. The oldest of 2 children, Karen was the responsible, rule-follower who liked new experiences. She went to college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, formerly the location of Intervarsity’s student missions conference Urbana.  This is where God sought her out and though it took His persevering pursuit, and several Christians that He placed around her, she ultimately gave her life to God and was baptized there.   She graduated with a BS in Business Administration.

She worked in corporate America for 8 years during which time she committed her life to full time ministry. Not sure what that would look like but following God’s leading, she went to Columbia International University: Seminary and School of Ministry in South Carolina and received a Biblical Ministry Certificate and a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Foreign Language/Intercultural Studies.   She has worked at several different community colleges and universities in NJ and WA teaching English as a Second Language courses in writing, grammar, reading, speaking, pronunciation, and listening.  She’s also taught pre-college level writing for native speakers and public speaking classes.

Currently, she works at Lake Washington Institute of Technology in Kirkland and recently gave up tenure to move to administration. She is now an Associate Dean of Instruction.

When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, serving God, cooking, catching up with sisters both near and far, cheering for the Seahawks (was never a fan of football), and scrapbooking.
