Cain & Abel: Mastered by Sin

Cain and Abel both offer their offerings to the Lord but Abel’s is accepted while Cain’s is not. Abel brought the firstfruits and fat portions, that is the best, to the Lord. Cain’s sacrifice is absent any notable qualities. This strongly suggest that Cain’s offering was not from the best but from the leftovers. Cain had a choice to make, he could give God a proper offering or he could give in to his jealousy.
