As followers of Christ our moral ethic should reflect the character of Christ, not the spirit of the world. Christians must stand apart from the world in our practice even while being close enough to the world for our witness. Exposing sin to light isn't for the sake of judgment or condemnation, but to show an empty world that there is a God who desires to fill them, a dead world that God wants to shine His light of life into their spiritual darkness. Christians walk the fine line of not participating in sinful actions but remaining close enough to make a difference. Living this way requires being filled with the Holy Spirit that brings a winsomeness into all our relationships.
